The Maldives is one of the most popular tourist attractions in South Asia wherein every person is dreaming to visit this popular awesome beach resort in India, the Maldives. It is popular because of the uniqueness of its design of the cottages wherein it is in the water. Sicolon cove resort at Laguindingan is now slowly recognized because of its cove design on their resort that the concept is like the Maldives. They have cottages overwater and during high tide, you can swim near into your cottage.
Sicolon Cove Resort is located at Laguindingan Misamis Oriental. 30-45 minutes travel time from Cagayan de Oro to Sicolon Cove Resort.
If you check the birds-eye view of their cottage design it’s like a Cove that has 7 cottages surround it.
The overwater rate cottage is P5, 000 pesos while those front beach cottages are P2, 500 pesos.
Compare to a front beach cottage, the cottage in the cove is big, it has 2 tables and 1 bed wherein you can rest after your swimming. With this bed also, you can rest while enjoying the sunset view.
If you have planned to visit the Sicolon Cove Resort, you must call first to the resort for your cottage reservation, they don’t allow walk-in customers as for now (0917 791 9088). The resort is still in the soft opening and not yet 100% fully functional. But the good news for this is that the resort doesn’t have an entrance fee, corkage charge and they have a big parking lot. It has also a function room for big gatherings like birthdays or reunions. They are open from 6 am to 6 Pm daily.
Best Time to Come
The best time to come here is during high tide because the water the level of the water almost reaches the boardwalk of the cove. With a high tide, it is nice to stay at the water to swim and especially in the table while drinking some soda or beer.
Best Cottage to choose
After your call for the reservation, they will ask you what cottage do you like to be a reserve, on the beachfront or in the overwater cottages. If you choose overwater cottages, the best cottage is the #1 and #4 cottages because the bed is facing the inside the cove and nice view for the sunset.
What to expect at Sicolon Cove Resort
This is base on my observation during our visits to Sicolon Cove. You will expect
- Clean water of the sea, no plastic and garbage
- Pure sand when you swim,
- Nice view
- Nice sunset view to watch it if will not rain
- Clean place
- A helpful crews
- Wonderful experience in Sicolon Cove
- Not funtional restaurant yet.

How to Get to Sicolon Cove
For private vehicles just follow the Cagayan de Oro-Iligan road around 30-45 minutes. You need to bypass the Languindingan Airport crossing and from there around 2-3 Kilometers you will reach the wet market of Languindingan. Turn right, and just follow the road. Around 5-10 minutes you will arrive at Sicolon Cove.
For commuters, you can ride bus or jeep going to Iligan then informs the driver or Conductor that you will stop at the wet market of Languindingan going to Sicolon cove. From there, you can ride a tri-cab to reach the Sicolon Cove.
