Boracay Island is located off the northwest corner of Panay Island and belongs to the Western Visayas island-group, or Region VI, of the Philippines.

Boracay Island will officially open to the public and for the tourists this coming October 26, 2018, after 6 months rehabilitation of the Island. If you saw already the images right now on the Internet of Boracay I am sure you will put this place on your bucket list to visit this year or next year even if you visited Boracay Island before.

If you have planned to visit Boracay Island expect there are lots of changes in the Island in their laws and ordinances.

“There will be a lot of laws and ordinances to be implemented in Boracay under [DILG] supervision to make sure that there will be no repeat of what happened before,” Interior Secretary Eduardo M. Año said

For instance, only business establishments accredited by the interagency task force that have sewerage treatment plants and secured environmental compliance certificates would be allowed to operate by the Oct. 26 reopening.

The visitors of the island resort will now be asked to show proof of confirmed hotel and bookings before entering Boracay; and if they booked with a non-compliant hotel or establishment, chances are they will not be allowed to set foot and enjoy in the renowned tourist destination.

The DOT has earlier released a new list of accredited Boracay accommodation establishments for tourists or visitors to check.

Caticlan and Kalibo are gateways to the world-famous Boracay island.
