This little Baguio of Salay, Mis Or is located in Barangay Matampa, Salay Misamis Oriental which is 8.5 kilometers away from Hijab National Highway. This little Baguio of Salay is around 1-2 hours travel time from Cagayan de Oro which is around 65 kilometers from CDO, From the highway, you need to travel around 15-20 minutes to reach this travel destination of yours. We don’t need to go to Baguio City just to experience the cold and foggy weather because we have our own Salay Little Baguio in Misamis Oriental.

Salay Matampa Pines is a foggy and breezy place where you can visit, relax and experience what it’s like to be reunited with nature under the towering pine trees, majestic view of the wall of mountains, and stunning scenery of the coast with the priceless sunset.

The place is accessible by car, scooters, motors, and even mountain bikes. Any kind of vehicle can enter this little Baguio of Salay.

Salay little Baguio Operation

  • Weekdays: 8 AM to 5:30 PM
  • Weekends: 8 Am to 7 PM

and you can also overnight in this place that will start from 6 pm up to the following day.

How to Get in Salay Little Baguio

  • If you come by bus or van, you will most likely disembark at Salay Bus terminal station.
  • You can take “sikad/toktok” to Salay River side 1 and from there take “habal -habal” to Matampa Pines.
  • The fare is about Php 100.00 each.

Private Cars Tips

For those who travel by private cars

  • It is best to make sure your vehicle is in A condition especially the brakes, horns, and radiators as it’s all an uphill trip on a concrete road.
  • It is advisable to be at low gear and blow your horns at every curve or turn.
  • Use the engine brake when going downhill.

You may bring your own food or buy it at stores while still at the Poblacion in Salay. There are picnic tables and a few cottages already available at the pines for affordable fees or rent, the canteen is yet to be constructed.

Reminders:

  • We are all responsible for our own garbage, upon entry you will be given a bag for your rubbish which you can dispose of at the gate upon your exit.
  • The place is strictly a no-smoking and no-drinking place. Music only is allowed at a certain level.

Salay Little Baguio Fees

  • 35 Pesos Entrance Fee
  • Php 100 per table
  • Cottages: Day time Php 350.00 (4 pax), Night time Php 350.00
  • Overnight Fee: Php 150.00 per person.
  • Booking required.

For overnight/camping activities, kindly book in advance and bring your own tent and equipment. We suggest doing it when there is the moon, nothing beats the beauty of God’s creation when the landscape around you is illuminated naturally at night.

Likewise, if you have the chance to wait, don’t lose sight of the sun when it sets over the horizon. Why? because it’s breathtaking to see from afar and on top of the mountain, we will be honored if you conclude your day at the pines while greeting another promise of tomorrow when the dusk is gone.

Warning:

The place is breezy at night during summer, windy and cold from May to October, and chilly and foggy from November to February. Sleeping in a hammock, in shorts, and without a layer of clothes on any night might give you a sleepless night.
