Candy’s
Limketkai Center, Cagayan de Oro City
Candy’s as a “sophisticated country lass” is about the best comparison a first-timer can make. From the refined furnishings and décor, Candy’s is a superb choice for both intimate dates and business meetings. Though pricier than most eats in Cagayan, Candy’s makes up for it with its extended menu of delish Italian, American, Tex-Mex and Filipino dishes served in hefty sizes. The Three Cheese Torta (cheese, pesto, sun-dried tomatoes on wheat pandesal) is a must-order along with generous slices of Peach Melba or any of those sinful-looking chocolate cakes. – CDOkay.com
Loreto’s Grill & Restobar
Tomas Saco Street, Cagayan de Oro City
If you want some authentic Chinese dishes without the generic “Chow fast food taste,” check out Dimsum Diner in Divisoria (across Dunkin Donuts). With it’s trendy black and red on white interiors, this is not your typical Chinese dinner. If you want a filling meal, best bets include the Three-Way (Asado, century egg, jellyfish!), Japanese siomai (and a long list of some variants) and congees (chicken, beef, century egg, etc.). – CDOkay.com

Coffee Corner/Corner Cafe
Atrium, Limketkai Center, Cagayan de Oro City
OIC (Only in Cagayan)
Corrales St. Cagayan de Oro City
(08822) 72-81-81
OIC can give Manila’s Dencio’s and Gerry’s Grill a real run for their money—food and setting wise. Anything grilled here—pork, beef, fish, and seafood is truly appetizing. Pair these “sinugbas” with green mango, fresh lumpia or lato (seaweed) and you have a meal worth a fine dining place sans the high prices. This barkada-friendly restaurant can be enjoyed indoors or al fresco. Beer overflows on happy hours while the resident band’s music soothes diners’ frayed nerves. – CDOkay.com

By the way if you are looking to relocate to Cagayan de Oro? With a perfect setting it may be a great business move for you to open a restaurant. If you are looking into opening a restaurant in Cagayan de Oro or anywhere else make sure you learn about the benefits of including fiberglass grating in your construction plans.

  2. Good day, you need to update your list…

    Lemon Tree Cafe – CLOSED. This is now Pyramid KTV Bar;
    Miyuki (Japanese Restaurant) Yacapin-Pacana Streets, Cagayan de Oro City? I don’t think Yacapin and Pacana Streets intersect because they’re parallel;
    Tropica Cafe and Restaurant – doesn’t exist anymore (I think it’s now Ramen Tei if I’m not mistaken);
    Tia Nanangs – It’s now Parasat and a Thai massage center;
    Blue Berry Cafe – It’s now called Brew Berry Cafe;
    Gafe Ganadores – CLOSED;
    Thrives Comedy Bar – CLOSED;

    You may add:

    Miami Inn – Vamenta Blvd.
    Stonestown – Masterson Ave. (there’s a nice cafe there)
    Bistro Mercedes – T. Chavez St.
    Jo’s Manokan – Corrales Extn. – why did you miss it?

    cheers!

  3. I used to always stay at Grand City Hotel everytime I was in CDO because it was affordable until I was treated very, very rudely by a front desk officer last December 2008. I complained about it, even wrote a written complaint to the admin and even to the hotel and resto association of the city (as I firmly believed I was unduly disrespected and treated unfairly). I got 3 replies from the hotel association, but never heard anything from Grand City itself. I am never setting foot in that hotel again and would not recommend it to anyone.

  4. Was surprised to find that a bar was able to offer great food from a wide international, as well as local menu. Spooks serves very large meals as my gf and i discovered and the price was great. Their pork medallions in white wine were a real treat.

  8. Hi! I’d be going to CDO by end of October 2010. Is it possible to travel by land taking an airconditioned bus from CDO to Iligan City, then Iligan City to Dipolog City? Can i cover this 3 places in just 4 days? Is it safe to travel by land? Thank you.

The smell of fresh manok grilling as you drink Ice cold Red horse beeris ecstacy.Tinae which i seen being screwed and looked very interesting till my wife told me what it was, but being a chef wanted to try it anyway and the batikulon Which we have here in the states but most americans would never try, is the best thing that ever came out of a chicken lol..the only problem is too many places to eat in one night even though it’s basically the same food at each stall each have there own taste. Go hungry and eat at each 🙂
