The Obrero Place: Manolo Fortich Bukidnon

The Obrero Place

Weekend Retreat

How did you spend your weekend? Did you have a great time? Well, if you ask me those questions, my resounding answer is a definite “YES!” Alongside my beautiful partner and our friends, we embarked on an unforgettable weekend getaway. The place is called “The Obrero Place” in Manolo Fortich, Bukidnon.

Our original plan was to indulge in a delightful lunch at Club House del Monte in San Miguel, Manolo Fortich, and then take a refreshing dip in the pools at The Obrero Place and Mangima. However, our excitement led us to explore The Obrero Place first, a hidden gem owned by Dr. Faustino Obrero. Although it has been open for 2-3 years, it remains relatively undiscovered by the public.

The Obrero Place

At first glance, The Obrero Place presents itself as a hacienda-style retreat, with an impressive exterior. The entrance fee might be a departure from the norm, with 100 pesos for adults and 50 pesos for children. The place is divided into two distinct areas: a forested oasis and a charming garden, perfect for those who adore flowers and cherish nature.

The highlight of The Obrero Place is undoubtedly its two interconnected pools, each catering to different age groups – one for children and another for adults. As you take a leisurely swim, you’ll feel as though you’ve been transported to the heart of a jungle, surrounded by a lush canopy of trees. The tranquil ambiance is a haven for those seeking serenity and peace of mind.

After an invigorating swim in their pristine pools, our appetites were piqued. We headed to their canteen and were pleasantly surprised to find that the prices were quite reasonable, comparable to other resorts we had visited in Bukidnon. Most of the dishes we ordered were generously portioned for four people, allowing us to keep our lunch expenses in check. The food exceeded our expectations, and we wholeheartedly recommend both the place and the delectable dishes they serve.

The Obrero Place also offers a boating area where you can take a leisurely ride on their boats. Additionally, they have rooms available for those who wish to stay overnight, and the room rate is quite affordable, making it an attractive option for extended visits.

While our initial plan to have lunch at Club House del Monte was postponed, we did manage to visit and savor some snacks while enjoying the scenic views of the golf course area. Our weekend adventure at The Obrero Place turned out to be a memorable and refreshing escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.
