The Black Nazarene Feast

Their are lots of big events on the month of January that people preparing to attend these big events of celebrations, just like the fest of Santo Nino which some people will attend and join the celebration at Cebu for the Sinulog Festival which is held every 15th and 16th of January and also the fest of the Black Nazarene which is also held every 2nd Sunday of the month of January.  It’s already 3 years since the Black Nazarene fest was started here in the City of Golden Friendship Cagayan de Oro with procession of the Black Nazarene.

It is my second time to attend and cover this fest which is year by year devoted of the Black Nazarene was increased by thousands and by this year celebration the devoted of Black Nazarene was about a millions. This year celebration is different from the last 2 years celebration, they have new route for the procession of the Black Nazarene. It was started around 3 o’clock in the afternoon, this year they started at Kulambog Lapasan going to agora then pier, going back to C.M Recto and then pass it to the Corales street and Baranggay Mabulay and then pass to the Baranggay Osmena extension.

They have the total of 5-6 kilometers for these routes compared to the last years which is only 3 kilometers and it was end around 7 o’clock in the evening then it was followed by a mass. Here are some photos of the Black Nazarene procession with millions of people.

I saw smiling faces to those people who serve to the Black Nazarene during the fest. He was happy with all his heart and soul to serve.
