Entrance Gate of Intramuros

Aside of the beautiful inside you can see also the famous transportation that used during the Spanish time the KARTALISA. What I like most also inside the Fort Santiago is the place where our National Hero stayed during he was captured by the Spanish where in we can see the memory of Dr. Jose P. Rizal. All the exhibits inside the building are antiques; you can see books, paintings, sculpture, clothes of Dr. Jose Rizal, and many others. I don’t have word to say because I really enjoy our tour in this day. Here are some pictures during the tour.

After exploring at the garden of Intramuros it is time visit inside the museum of our National Hero Dr. Jose P. Rizal. I’m lucky and happy to visit this place and saw this museum.

This show is something like comedy and I admit that they entertain me well and I think I’m not the only one who enjoyed the show, I think all of us. Its comedy show but they send us a message to everybody.

The Wild Life Show

In this show, they are presenting different kind of animals that live in the jungle where some of them are in-danger already. They also give some tips on how to survive at the jungle if you are alone.

All of these shows have only one message to everybody and that is to protect our mother nature and our environment. In this way we can save life of some animals that have already put in danger.

Note: They did not allow bringing food inside the Ocean Adventure Park, only water allows inside.

In this month our next destination is the Surfing Capital of the Philippines, Siargao.

Motorela came from the word “Caretella” which is one of the most popular vehicles right now in Cagayan de Oro City. I was searching in the net this morning and I found this name Raphael Floirendo who invented the Motorela in 1964 from the word ‘motorized” and “caretella”. This Filipino inventor came from Luzon and transfer here in Cagayan de Oro; he was able to study high school at Xavier University-Ateneo De Cagayan. Raphael Floirendo earned 500 Pesos after selling the first unit which is not here but in Ozamiz City. After selling and it was known to the public the locals are using the “caretella” or the Motorela.

The Cagayan de Oro Bloggers (CDO Bloggers) group is set to play host to the Mindanao Bloggers Summit 3, which will be held on October 24, 2009. With the theme, “Mindanao: Bag-Uhon Ang Panan-aw,” the MBS 3 aims to uphold the beauty and strength of the island and to expunge the negative notions the world has about it.

(Cagayan de Oro City, Mindanao, Philippines – October 21, 2009) – It’s all systems go for the Cagayan de Oro Bloggers (CDO Bloggers) as they play host to the much-awaited Mindanao Bloggers Summit 3, an annual gathering of Mindanao-based bloggers, IT industry experts, community leaders and new media advocates, on October 24, 2009 at Pearlmont Inn, Limketkai Drive, Cagayan de Oro City. Roughly 300 bloggers are expected to attend this year’s summit.

With the theme, “Mindanao: Bag-Uhon Ang Panan-aw,” (Changing The Way People See Mindanao) the event aims to uphold the beauty and strength of Mindanao, to highlight the diverse cultures and fascinating tourist spots that are uniquely Mindanao and to provide a platform where bloggers and other new media practitioners can discuss concerns related to Mindanao – all with the help of new and emerging technologies.

“Mindanao is the home of everything fascinating or in bloggers’ lingo – bloggable. Through the Mindanao Bloggers Summit 3, it is the hope of the CDO Bloggers, along with our partners and generous sponsors, that we listen to knowledgeable resource persons, meet other Mindanaoan bloggers, share and maximize all of our skills and resources and adopt tried and tested practices that can help us to fully promote Mindanao and for us to become better bloggers as well,” emphasized Chiq Montes, president of CDO Bloggers.

“Of course, we also want all of the participants to have a good time and experience the sights and sounds of Cagayan de Oro,” Montes added.

Montes said that apart from Mindanaoan bloggers, the summit will also see the participation of some bloggers from Luzon and Visayas.

Expected to grace the summit is United States Embassy’s new Deputy Chief of Mission Leslie Bassett, Atty. Adel Tamano, Agusan Lone District Rep. Rodolfo “Ompong” Plaza and Cagayan de Oro City Mayor Tinnex Jaraula.

Considered unprecedented in the Philippine blogosphere, a top ranking United States Embassy dignitary is set to deliver the keynote address. Bassett’s trip to CDO will be her first trip to Mindanao since assuming office in June. She previously served as DCM in Mexico.

“We are deeply honored. We’re certain that the summit participants will be delighted to meet her and we can’t wait for her to see our beautiful city,” Montes said.

Other speakers during the whole-day affair include Cagayan de Oro City Mayor Tinnex Jaraula, Agusan Lone District Rep. Rodolfo “Ompong” Plaza and Atty. Adel Tamano.

Google’s Philippine representative Aileen Apolo, whose talk will focus on beginners, Digital Filipino’s Janette Toral, who will discuss blog advertising and Lyle Santos, who will talk about making money online will also be present. Representatives of other blogger groups including those in Davao City, General Santos City and Zamboanga will also give updates.

After the summit proper, participants have the choice of joining either the city tour (Xavier University Museum, Cathedral, Divine Mercy Shrine, Opol Aviary, Limketkai Mall) or the whitewater rafting adventure.

Also happening on October 24, right after the MBS 3, is the Philippine Blog Awards – Mindanao awarding ceremonies.

Philippine Military Academy

Philippine Military Academy (PMA) - For the past 100 years, the officer’s training school of the Armed Forces in the Philippines has made Baguio City its home. The Philippine Military Academy (PMA) boast of a long and illustrious history of preparing only the best Filipino men (and, in recent times, women) for military service.

Located at Fort Gegorio del Pilar on Loakan Road, visitors to the City of Pines are welcome to explore the grounds, view the cadets doing their drills, and view the PMA museum and see vintage tanks and other historical military weapons.

Trivia – The Philippine Military Academy began on October 25, 1898 with the establishment of the Academia Militar in Malolos, Bulacan by virtue of a decree issued by the first president of the young Philippine Republic, General Emilio Aguinaldo. Graduates were awarded regular commission in the armed forces. Its existence was short-lived, up to 20 January 1899, when hostilities between the Americans and Filipinos erupted.

BurnHam Park – is the very heart of Baguio City in the Philippines. It is located at the most valuable piece of Baguio real estate and is free for the enjoyment of visitors and residents alike. The ‘mother of all parks’ in the Summer Capital of the Philippines, all other developments like the main shopping area Session Road, City Hall, Baguio Cathedral and the Baguio City Market were built around it.

Kennon Road

Kennon Road – Kennon Road was for a whole century, the most popular access to Baguio City, Philippines. There has been no other road that has meant so much happiness for many travelers, who know that cool, cool weather lies just about 45 minutes away. Kennon Road was built to connect Kafagway, later on chartered as Baguio City, to the lowlands. Acording to Filipino architect, Filipino author and Baguio native Ernesto Zarate, his research shows that the Americans started building simulta-neously from the top (which is Baguio City) and from the base (in La Union), and found that the two roads would not meet, necessitating a winding road through Bued River Canyon, affectionately referred to as the “Zigzag.”

Lourdes Grotto and Mirador Hill

Lourdes Grotto – The Lourdes Grotto is another Catholic shrine and place of meditation in Baguio. It is located on a high hill in the western part of Baguio City where you will find the image of the Lady of Lourdes. It is a favorite pilgrimage site during Holy Week most especially during Holy Thursday and Good Friday. Access to the top of the grotto could be made by climbing the long steps or by driving up a winding road.

Mines View Park

Mines View Park – is one of the most visited tourist spots in Baguio City. The park has a viewdeck where one can have an unobstructed view of Balatok, Antamok and Atok mines and a spectacular view of the Cordillera mountain range.

Sunshine Park

Sunshine Park – A haven for free minds and bodies. The Eco-tour refreshes the eyes with nature’s feast of flowers. The gallery inspires one’s creativity.

Wright Park

Wright Park – Directly across The Mansion is Wright Park that features the much photographed Baguio landmark, the “Pool of Pines”. One will see a gazebo and a long flight of stairs down the hill leading to the Wright Park Riding Circle, where hundreds of horses and ponies of various sizes are for hire.

The Mansion

The Mansion – It is located on the eastern part of the city along C.P. Romulo Drive (formerly a part of Leonard Wood Road) and right across from Wright Park,The Mansion is older than the city itself, and easily one of the most visited and photographed landmarks of the City of Pines.

Trivia – Formerly called the Mansion House, this stately building was built in 1908 as summer homes for U.S. Governor-generals who were the American administrators for the Philippines and was destroyed in 1945 during the battle for the liberation of the Philippines.

The Philippine government later rebuilt and improved the structure in 1947 and since then it has been used by various Philippine presidents whenever they come up to Baguio City for their official visits and engagements.
